I have an amazing story of Christ’s grace saving a lady in her seventies through our local church.
During the “Response Time” of a Sunday morning service in April, a lady in her seventies approached one of our pastors to begin our membership process. One of our female members met with her immediately following the service and recommended to the pastors that the lady was not born again.
Additionally, our membership process requires each applicant to write out the gospel and their personal story of salvation. Sure enough, the lady did not share the true gospel. We asked the lady to read and discuss a book on the gospel with one of our female members. The lady read the book and yesterday, during their second meeting, the lady gave her life to Christ! Jesus is Lord.
I am so thankful we have a saving God.
I am so thankful we have a God who never gives up on us…even after seventy years. He loves us so much.
I am so thankful for the power of the gospel.
I am so thankful to have my new sister-in-Christ.
I am so thankful I belong to a local church with a healthy membership process. People coming to the realization they are lost and then surrendering to Christ through our membership process never gets old.
I am so thankful our pastors shepherd in earnestness.
I am so thankful that our worship service decision counselors take discipleship seriously and aren’t just going through the motions.
I am so thankful for the effectiveness of one-on-one discipleship.
This coming Sunday, a candle will be burning.
