Would you like to encounter Christ in a unique way? Are you wanting to deal with any fear and timidity about being a Christian in the public square? Do you want to be challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone? Are you ready to take a risk for the gospel? Would you like to practice defending our faith? Would you like to find yourself leaning more toward evangelism in your everyday life?
You ought to commit to a six Sunday block in Jericho Project. Our Jericho Project is not only to reach the unbelievers in our suburbs; it is also a school for training NEHBC members to be disciples. It is both an effort to offer the gospel to every house in the area around our church AND a means to sharpen and strengthen our members.
You can do this. It is a six Sunday commitment only, from 5-7 pm. You will be on the same team all six weeks with the same trainer which means you will be trained, shown how to do it, assisted in doing it, and encouraged at every step along the way. When the six weeks are over, you are done. You do not have to come back. Or, you are welcome to re-up for another six weeks immediately or later in the year. One thing is sure: you will not be the same when the six weeks are over. This will deeply impact you.
The 5-7 pm format looks like this:
5-5:15 pm – Mini evangelism training for all the teams in the Fellowship Hall
5:15-6:45 pm – Door-to-door evangelism in teams
6:45-7 pm – Report back time, in which all teams meet back in the Fellowship Hall to share war stories. It is an incredibly encouraging time!
The next six Sunday block begins on Sunday, May 17, 5 pm. Just show up in the Fellowship Hall.
And here’s a bonus for you: Also, on Sunday, May 17th, from 3-5 pm, I am teaching a quick seminar on how to share the gospel. If you show up at 3 pm without a clue about how to share the gospel from start to finish, you will be equipped to do so by 5 pm!
